What we are doing now
Priority 1
- Further develop ways of engaging and working with communities, through the Safer Neighbourhoods initiative and locality working with three target areas
- Support community development work in the regeneration area across agencies
- Support local people in taking action to address local issues and local needs and influence decisions
- Promote greater dialogue between all faith communities in Poole and support faith communities in adressing local needs
- Bring organisations together to improve engagement on equalities issues (e.g. better understanding of the issues affecting migrant workers)
Priority 2
- Promote inter-generational projects to encourage better understanding and communication between younger and older people
- Celebrate Poole's heritage, culture and diversity
Priority 3
- Sustain and increase the capacity of the voluntary, community and faith sectors
- Develop opportunities for the voluntary, community, faith and not-for-profit sectors to deliver better, more cost effective services for communities in Poole
- Further develop the engagement of local business with the voluntary, community and faith sectors
Priority 4
- Encourage people of all ages to be active in their communities through volunteering
