What we are doing now
We work on a range of projects promoting community safety: whether it's giving young people positive activities, publicising what residents can do to protect themselves against crime, preventing domestic violence, tackling prejudice or providing drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
Our priorities for 2010 are:
- supporting and safeguarding vulnerable victims
- public confidence and communication
- tackling acquisitive crime (such as burglary and vehicle crime)
- offender management.
MARAC (Multi-Agency Risk Assesment Conference)
MARACs deal with the domestic violence victims identified as being at highest risk of serious harm.
