Health & Well-Being

Whilst the majority of people in Poole enjoy good health and quality of life, relative poverty and inequalities in health and life opportunities exist, concentrated in particular localities and for particular groups of people.

Poole Partnership Health and Well-Being Board has an important role in influencing service provision so as to promote healthy lifestyles, address inequalities and improve quality of life for those experiencing poor health (a disability or as a carer), relative poverty and poor housing conditions in Poole.

The Board leads the process of long-term strategic planning and supports the development of a mechanism for engagement with people throughout Poole's communities and across all relevant organisations regarding health and well-being. It has responsibility for the Healthier Communities part of the Local Area Agreement and the health and well being aspects of the Sustainable Community Strategy.
