Sustainable Community Strategy and Local Area Agreement

'Shaping Poole's Future' is Poole's Sustainable Community Strategy 2006-2012, identifies 7 themes which contribute to qulaity of life for local people.

  • Promoting a Sustainable Environment
  • Strengthening our Communities
  • Investing in Poole's Children and Young People
  • Valuing our Older People
  • Promoting Health and Well Being
  • Keeping Poole Safe and Feeling Safe
  • Developing a Dynamic Economy

'Closing the Gap' is Poole's Local Area Agreement which covers the period 2006-2009. This document helps set out priorities for our local area, agreed between partners across Poole (Including the Council) and central Government. It focuses on bridging the inequalities gap experienced by some residents in areas within Poole.

Poole's Local Development Framework plans for future development in Poole over the next 15 to 20 years and is progressing at the same time. It is important  that these two aspects of planning evolve closely together.  The Partnership website will be used to publicise consultation events for both of these processes. Do get in touch if you would like to discuss 'Shaping Poole's Future' at a meeting of your group.
