Poole residents are being asked to help shape a new initiative to champion the voice of patients, those who use adult social care and the public.
Local HealthWatch will give people the opportunity to express their views and influence local health and social care services. It will also help people choose health and social care services and give support if they want to complain about health services. Local HealthWatch is being introduced under the government's health reforms and councils responsible for providing social care services need to ensure that local HealthWatch is in place by October 2012.
You may have heard of LINKs (Local Involvement Networks) which will come to an end when Local HealthWatch starts.
Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole are joining forces to ensure that there is a smooth transition from LINks to Local HealthWatch. All three councils would like you to take part in shaping HealthWatch in this area and would love to hear your views.
A short questionnaire has been put together to enable you to do this quickly and simply. It should only take a few minutes of your time. You can complete the survey online or paper copies are available on-line or please contact us by e-mail h.young@poole.gov.uk or telephone 01202 633398.
Survey forms and further information can also be found at Healthpoint, Poole Central Library, Dolphin Centre, Poole, Monday to Friday 9.30am to 5pm (01202 675377 healthpoint@poole.gov.uk).
